Roblox Symbols Guide 🎮
Open any stylish Roblox profile and you'll notice it right away: the display name itself is part of the aesthetic. Cute brackets around the name, tiny stars and sparkles, and a decorated About section that makes the whole profile feel designed rather than default. This guide shows you exactly which symbols work in Roblox, where to put them, and which ones to avoid.
Why Roblox Needs Special Symbols
Roblox usernames have strict rules: 3–20 characters, letters and numbers with a maximum of one underscore — no spaces, no symbols, no fancy characters. And changing a username costs 1,000 Robux. That's why almost all the styling happens in the display name instead: it allows letters, numbers, spaces, symbols, and Unicode characters, it's free to change, and it can be up to 20 characters long.
One catch: after every display-name change, Roblox makes you wait 7 days before changing it again — so choose your decorated name carefully, because you're stuck with it for a week.
Display Name Symbols That Work
These are the most-used decorations for aesthetic Roblox profiles. Every symbol below renders in Roblox's font:
- Stars & sparkles (✦ ✧ ⋆ ♡) — small accents before or after your name; the safest choice, they render on every device.
- Brackets & frames (꒷꒦ 『 』 ˗ˏˋ ˎˊ˗) — wrap your name to make it pop: ˗ˏˋ ria ˎˊ˗.
- Hearts & cute marks (♡ ღ ʚ ɞ) — perfect for soft, kawaii-style profiles.
- Short dividers (─ ━ ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆) — keep them short; long strings eat into the 20-character limit fast.
How to Add Symbols: Step by Step
- Pick your symbols from our Roblox symbols page and click to copy them.
- In Roblox, open Settings → Account Info.
- Click the edit (pencil) icon next to Display Name.
- Paste the symbols around your name and hit Save.
- Check your profile on both desktop and mobile — some symbols render slightly differently.
Remember the 7-day cooldown: double-check your spelling and every symbol before saving, because you can't change it again for a week.
Bio / About: The Secret to a Cute Profile
Your profile's About section allows up to 1,000 characters — that's where the real decorating happens. Styled headers, decorative borders, and stacked symbol lines all fit here. A divider like ─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─── between sections, or a framed header like ♡ ─── about me ─── ♡, instantly makes a profile feel designed.
Keep it readable, though. A wall of symbols with no actual text looks messy — use decorations as frames around real info: your favorite games, your vibe, your friends' names.
Symbols to Avoid
Not everything pastes cleanly. Skip these:
- Symbols in the username field — Roblox rejects anything that isn't a letter, number, or single underscore there. Style the display name, not the username.
- Characters that don't render in Roblox's font — they show up as empty boxes (▯) on some devices. If a symbol looks broken, swap it for a simpler one.
- Zalgo / "glitch" stacked text — the combining marks count as multiple characters each, eating your 20-character limit fast, and Roblox may filter them.
- Anything the filter tags — if your text turns into hashtags (###), Roblox blocked it. Simplify and try again.
When in doubt, stick to the tested sets on our Roblox symbols page — if it's listed there, it works.
